That time of year again

24th October. Which means that there are nine weeks to the annual shopping frenzy.

I saw my first Christmas decorations hanging in the local shops today and there are reports of fully decorated real Christmas trees in local hotels.

And no. I do not want to try out the free samples of Christmas pud and extra greasy mince pies. Thank you all the same. But please ask me again in two months when I shall be happy to join in the fun and gobble them up.

I know some people love the decorations, but may I respectfully point out that this is October. NOT December. If you are a parent or grandparent or seriously into buying gifts I wish you strength. Please accept a small medal. And good luck.

Courage mes braves, courage.

In the meantime I am trying to focus on a fast discovery draft  – so see you in about a week!

  1. The shops put out their Christmas decorations for sale at the end of September this year. I actually stopped and checked the date thinking I’d lost a month and my mind. What are they trying to do to me?

  2. Haha. I really appreciate the ToysRUs pic. Don’t even want to think about it yet (though small people are already talking lists, sigh). Courage for the fast draft, may you soon know its answers. jx
