I am not a great TV watcher but now and again a program catches my eye which I feel compelled to make time for – before my eyeballs burn out looking at this screen.
‘Once Upon A Time’ is a fairy tale timeslip series which has just started on Channel 5 here in the UK. I caught episode 3 the other evening and immediately went back and watched the pilot and episode 2 on my computer. You can find them here for the moment at least ‘ http://www.channel5.com/shows/once-upon-a-time/episodes/pilot-17
Fascinating idea, intruiging and intelligent. Great escapism with some excellent casting from British as well as international actors. Robert Carlyle is brilliant!
And a very kick ass Snow White. I loved it.
But then again, my geeky side also loved the BBC program on ceramics last night. Ever tried to explain to a junior school how glass works? I mean you heat up sand and minerals and it becomes transparent…huh? Same with cement – how does cement set underwater when you make it with water? For a scientist comme moi this is great stuff. So much temptation!
