Over the past two months or so, I have been working through a 30-Day Book Launch Challenge, building up to the release of my first cozy mystery novel under a new pen name; Sophie Brent.
It has been two weeks since the first book in the series, Murder and Mozzarella, was released, and I am delighted that so many readers and reviewers have enjoyed discovering deli-owner and sleuth Lottie Brannigan.
Romance and crime fiction have always been my favourite genres, but when it comes to TV dramas, there is only one choice – cozy mysteries.
They could be classics such as the Miss Marple adaptations, or historicals like the Father Brown, Miss Fisher and Doctor Blake series. Contemporary cozy mysteries offer escapist entertainment from the comfort of our living rooms, which is probably why long-running series such as Midsomer Murders, Death in Paradise and Murder She Wrote are so popular. And there are lots more!
For me, there is one common thread running through all of these great mysteries; Character. I am having so much fun writing about Lottie and her pals who live in Kingsmede, and I hope that you enjoy the results.
A huge thanks to everyone for their support. Have a great week!
