I am now deep in revisions to my latest WIP.
Alive but struggling. And I want a solid revised draft by the end of the week so lots to do, and I may be away for some time.
For self motivation , there are two quotes written on sticky notes on my monitor.
“I would never write about anyone who is not at the end of his rope.” Stanley Elkin
and
“Books aren’t written- they’re rewritten. Including your own. It is one of the hardest things to accept, especially after the seventh rewrite hasn’t quite done it.” Michael Crichton.
So while I take my poor hero to the end of his rope, I shall use the prospect of a short holiday in September as a reward. Enjoy.

Yes Romy – this is a photo from my last holiday in Cephalonia and one of my favourite places as a holiday destination.
And I have fingers and toes firmly crossed that I will not have more revisions on this book. I do love the characters and storyline so much. Love Nina
That is a nice prospect to look forward to. Where is it? I’m guessing somewhere on the Mediterranean …
Here’s hoping you don’t get to 7 revisions on this one!
Keep plugging away – I know it’ll be a fab story.
Thank you Kate and good luck to you on your WIP. And he is so right!
Good luck with the revs, Nina – and what a fantastic quote by Michael Crichton. I’m pinning that one above my desk (because I know I’m going to come home from Italy to… revisions!)
Thank you Debs. I am rebuilding my hero so that he starts off at the end of his rope – more for my heroine to do! Best.
Good luck with your revisions. I’m now off to ensure my characters get to the end of their ropes too.
